How to Be an Effective Advocate for a Hospital Patient

Many family caregivers often help a loved one who is in a hospital for invasive procedures or other needed care. This session will provide information on how to be an effective advocate during this stressful period. It will include tips on how to compare and select providers, the admission and discharge processes, communication with hospital staff, what to do if problems arise, and how to complain about the quality of care.
